Pearson Engineering announced on its official website that it had signed a contract with the UK`s Ministry of Defense to supply special equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to clear its land from mines and improvised explosive devices. On behalf of the country and the International Fund for Ukraine, the contract with Pearson Engineering was signed by Defense Equipment & Support (DE&S). This agreement is part of a maintenance support package worth more than £100 million announced in October 2023.
"The contract includes the supply of multi-purpose vehicle interfaces that will allow armoured vehicles already in Ukraine to accept self-protection mine ploughs which have been gifted by the British Army and refurbished by Pearson Engineering," the company stated.

The company also claimed that this help would allow Ukraine’s armoured vehicle fleet to not only use mine ploughs to clear safe routes, but also to accept a wide range of other types of ground engaging equipment to defeat other types of natural as well as deliberate obstacles.
In particular, the company noted that MW370 remotely controlled mine clearance vehicles have already been delivered to Ukraine.
It is known that all equipment has been provided with comprehensive spares and sustainment packages to ensure it can support the lives and assets of Armed Forces of Ukraine during the war.
"We continue to work collaboratively with our industrial partners to ensure that Ukraine has the mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities it needs, both for the current battle, but also in the interests of a safer and more secure environment for the people of Ukraine in the longer term," Major General, head of Strategic Capability, Engagement and Operations at DE&S Anna-Lee Reilly claimed.
Pearson Engineering also noted that this contract had followed cooperation with Germany's Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) to supply mine ploughs to Ukraine.
Earlier Defense Express reported that France had promised drones for Ukraine but now considers to use them too.
