Ukrainian border guards continue to showcase the power of unmanned aerial systems against russian forces. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine published footage revealing how its drones discovered and destroyed several camouflaged enemy assets during a recent operation.
The video shows the effective cooperation between reconnaissance and strike UAVs, which allowed Ukrainian operators to locate hidden russian positions and neutralize them with precision strikes. This type of joint drone employment has become a hallmark of Ukraine's defense strategy, enabling rapid detection and destruction of enemy equipment in the field.

According to the State Border Guard Service, the operation resulted in the elimination of multiple high-value targets. Among them was Soviet-designed D-30 howitzer, a towed artillery piece with a 122 mm caliber that russia continues to rely on despite its age. The weapon, first introduced in the 1960s, has proven vulnerable to modern precision-guided munitions and drone strikes.
Equally significant was the destruction of the Murom-M surveillance system. This russian-made observation system is designed to monitor wide areas, detect movements, and provide early warning to frontline units. By eliminating this system, Ukrainian forces not only reduced enemy situational awareness but also disrupted the opponent's ability to coordinate defenses.
In addition, border guard drone operators struck and destroyed russian transport vehicle. While less valuable than artillery or surveillance systems, the loss of mobility assets further complicates logistics and troop movement for russian units operating near the front.
The strikes were carried out using FPV drones equipped with explosive payloads, which scored direct hits on all identified targets. The growing effectiveness of FPV platforms highlights how relatively inexpensive drones are being used to destroy far more costly enemy assets, a dynamic that has reshaped the battlefield in Ukraine.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian drone operators have once again demonstrated the vulnerability of russia's aging armored fleet. On the Kupiansk axis, the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade destroyed russian T-62 tank during a night operation. The dramatic strike was captured on video and released by the Brigade, showcasing the growing role of drones in modern warfare.
The footage, described by the Brigade as "the epic night video from the Kupiansk direction we promised", highlights the precision and effectiveness of Ukraine's drone forces. The T-62, a Soviet-era medium tank, first entered service in 1961 and was the world's first production tank to feature a smoothbore 115 mm gun. Although once a breakthrough in armored warfare, the design is hopelessly outdated by modern standards.
