In addition to ground attacks, Ukraine’s first indigenous rotary-wing attack drone is suitable also for ISR missions

At the 17th edition of the Arms & Security Expo held in Kyiv from June 15 through 18, 2021, the private firm Ramzay unveiled its attack helicopter UAV named RZ-500 – the first to have been developed indigenously in Ukraine since independence.

The attached description says that the RZ-500 is designed with a max take-off weight of 500 kg, inclusive of a 100 kg weapon payload, and will be able to stay airborne during up to three hours, flying to 300 km, within a mission radius of ≥ 60 km from the control station.

Powered by a piston-type engine, the RZ-500 will be able to cruise at 180 km/h and develop up to 210 km/h.

The description says max hovering ceiling is 2,500 m, max service ceiling is 4,000 m and max climbing rate is 10 m/s.

The RZ-500, it has been revealed, can have dual use for battlefield reconnaissance and to provide targeting data for guided munitions and other projectiles with laser guidance systems.

The RZ-500 system is comprised of one or two UAV platforms, a mobile ground control station with a data terminal, transport facilities, and storage and maintenance equipment kits.
