The T-72AMT upgrade incorporates enhancements that include: (1) improved tracks with driving wheels adopted from the T-80 tank; (2) more capable engine V-84-1 replacing the older V-46; (3) new reactive armor system; (4) advanced tactical radio communications; and (5) SN-3003 “Bazalt” navigation suite.
The vehicle received improved firing capabilities by adding night vision equipment with third-generation electro optical converters and the 1K13 night vision sighting system enabling night firing with the DKB Luch’ Kombat (125mm gun-fired laser-guided) missile, which is capable of penetrating 550 mm of RHA behind explosive reactive armor (ERA).

Kyiv AVF was not the only company to supply the Ukrainian armed forces with repaired and upgraded armored vehicle so far in 2021.
Thus, Kharkiv AVF delivered 9 tanks T-64 and Lviv AVF delivered a combined total of more than 10 vehicles (T-64 and T-72 tanks) earlier in 2021
