By the end of 2025, the German company Hensoldt expects additional orders for Ukraine for TRML-4D radars. This is great news, as these radars can be used both as part of the Iris-T SLM air defense system and independently – to increase the capabilities for detecting air threats.
This was announced by company representatives at the presentation of financial results and plans for investors and analysts as part of Capital Markets Day 2025 presentation. According to the German Aid to Ukraine, deliveries will be later, most likely starting next year.

Hensoldt claims that the existing contracts are expected to generate revenue of approximately 500 million euros. The new agreements should bring in tens to hundreds of millions of euros, but more details have not yet been disclosed, not even whether the deliveries will be part of air defense systems or as independent radars.
Currently, with funds of the German government, the company is fulfilling an order for Ukraine for 18 TRML-4D as part of the Iris-T SLM, of which 8 have already been transferred as part of 8 batteries. Another 16 radars have been transferred and are used separately as means of detecting air targets.

The last time additional radars from Hensoldt were mentioned was at the end of July 2025, when the Spexer 2000 Mk 3, which is also used in the Skyranger anti-aircraft artillery systems, was also mentioned. The contract amount at that time was 340 million euros.
From Defense Express we note that strengthening the Ukrainian air defense with an additional number of anti-aircraft missile systems or even just radar systems is very important. This allows replacing post-Soviet assets in service with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which are gradually being decommissioned due to exhaustion of the resource, lack of spare parts for repair, depletion of ammunition reserves and, sometimes, as a result of being hit by the enemy.

The TRML-4D radar is capable of detecting and tracking up to 1,500 targets at ranges of up to 250 km, although this depends on the nature of the targets. This provides support for both the rest of the air defense system as well as the Iris-T SLM air defense system, which is to be equipped with the ability to counter ballistic missiles.
