The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has observed an increase in North Korean forces supporting russia’s war effort, though no additional special forces or infantry reinforcements have been confirmed.
According to Kyrylo Budanov, there has been a notable rise in artillery and missile operation units, accompanied by support personnel. This shift suggests a growing role for North Korean troops in sustaining russia’s long-range strike capabilities.

Deputy Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi, also highlighted that approximately 1,000 North Korean soldiers are undergoing training with modern military equipment. He emphasized their rapid adaptation to contemporary warfare, stating that within months, they have significantly improved their combat effectiveness. Beyond conventional weaponry like tanks, they are now proficient in operating advanced systems, including drones.

North Korea’s military support for russia continues to raise concerns, as Pyongyang’s increasing involvement signals deeper cooperation between the two authoritarian regimes.
