"Fresh" missiles come straight from production lines to be fired off on Ukraine

During the new round of missile attacks all over Ukraine on December 29, russian invasion forces have launched at least one missile made in the last fourth quarter of 2022. The information obtained by Defense Express from its own sources.

First and foremost, we should note that this is not the first time the russians launch a fairly "fresh" Kh-101 missile during massive missile attacks. For example, during the shelling on October 22, the russian Tu-95MS fired a cruise missile manufactured in the second quarter of this year.

Both times all there is left to wonder what is the percentage of newly-made missiles the invaders use in their air attacks. This time we can see that the russian defense industry is barely keeping up with the demand of the army: in October, russia used Kh-101 released in the second quarter (April-June), and now it used the one made in the fourth quarter (October-December). The timespan between the release of a missile and its launch has decreased by several months at least.

One of the reasons may be that every month passing by it becomes more and more difficult for the russians to get foreign components, in particular, components from the USA, which they actively use in their Kh-101. At the same time, the stocks of such components they prepared "in advance" tend to run out.

As a reminder, Defense Express earlier reported how many days the russians needed to produce one Kh-101, in particular, we mentioned that during the 3rd quarter of 2022, the invaders managed to produce no less than 52 Kh-101 missiles. And in total, during the period from the 2nd quarter of 2018 to November 23, 2022, the russian defense industry produced at least 402 missiles of this type.
