In January 2025, Ukraine officially became the first operator of the latest German RCH 155 SPGs. An official handover ceremony for the first RCH 155 SPG took place at the KNDS facility. Despite being the first contract for these SPGs, deliveries remained on schedule. The contract for these SPGs was signed at the end of 2022 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In total, Ukraine is set to receive 54 units under this agreement.
Recently, KNDS's official YouTube account published a video showcasing footage from the handover ceremony of the first RCH 155 SPG to Ukraine, attended by Ukrainian Ambassador Oleksii Makeiev and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

The video also includes footage from firing tests and field trials of the RCH 155 SPG, as well as scenes from the production process at the KNDS plant. The German company decided to showcase some aspects of the turret manufacturing process for these self-propelled artillery systems.
KNDS Deutschland previously announced plans to acquire a railway car manufacturing plant, which will be repurposed for the production of components for these artillery systems, as well as for the Leopard 2 main battle tanks.
