The German arms concern Rheinmetall plans to start production of the first Fuchs and Lynx armored vehicles in Ukraine next year. This was reported by the Reuters agency on December 2.
According to Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger, the company expects to sign an agreement with Ukraine on the production of Fuchs armored personnel carriers and Lynx infantry fighting vehicles by early next year.

"Once the contract is signed, we want to finish the first (Fuchs) within 6-7 months and the first Lynx within 12-13 months," Papperger said.
Earlier, late September, 2023, German government's competition regulator Bundeskartellamt issued a permission for Rheinmetall arms manufacturer to open a joint venture in Ukraine in partnership with the Ukrainian Defense Industry state-owned company.
In October, 2023, Rheinmetall was awarded a contract to supply automated reconnaissance systems to Ukraine as well as the manufacturer received large order to supply ammunition to Ukraine and Germany.
