The scale of the destruction of the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of the russian federation, which was attacked at night on Wednesday, May 31, may be much greater than those announced in the russian federation this morning.
Officially, the governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratiev, reported that as a result of the attack of one drone, the flames covered only 100 square meters, and "one heating oil distillation unit" was also damaged. That is, according to the statement of russian officials, an area measuring 10 by 10 meters could be engulfed in fire.

However, in reality, the picture looks completely different, as evidenced by a video that was made by a local resident. It should be noted that earlier videos were published on the network, but they were taken from a greater distance and did not convey the true scale.
The place where the video was shot is quite easy to geolocate - the car with the camera is moving along the E115 highway in the immediate vicinity of the oil refinery itself.
As you can see in the video, the scale of the fire, as well as the fact that it was the production, and not the storage facilities in the form of tanks, that were affected, directly speaks of an extremely effective attack of "just one kamikaze drone," if you believe the representatives of the local authorities.
We will also remind you that the 90th anti-aircraft missile brigade of the russian Armed Forces is responsible for defending this plant with a design capacity of 6.25 million tons of oil per year, in which 1.7 billion dollars was invested in 2019 for reconstruction. The brigade being armed with Buk-M3 SAM as well as dislocated right next to the enterprise itself, did not cope with the task of protecting the enterprise.
