The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Wednesday, September 6 that in the Bakhmut direction, artillery, together with the SOF operators, managed to destroy an important ammunition depot of the russian Army. This warehouse, among other things, stored 9М127 Vikhr guided missiles for Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters (Ka-50 helicopters are not used by russians in battles against the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
These missiles have a supersonic flight speed (approximately 600 m/s, or the equivalent of 3600 km/h), the launch mass is 45 kg, the warhead 8–12 kg tis equipped with tandem HEAT charge; length - 2.75 meters, launch range - up to 10 kilometers during the day and up to 5-6 kilometers at night.

What is particularly problematic here is the range of the 9М127 Vikhr missiles, which, in particular, gives the russian Ka-52 attack helicopters an opportunity to strike Ukrainian troops without entering the range of the army's air defense systems.
This problem affects the rate of advancement of Ukrainian troops in the South. Enemy Ka-52 Alligator helicopters with the 9М127 Vikhr missiles created problems for the assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Bakhmut as well.

So far, there is no data that would allow us to estimate the exact number of the Vikhr missiles that could have been destroyed at this enemy warehouse. But we can already assume that the loss of at least a certain number of the missiles will force the occupiers, at least, to reduce the activity of their army aviation strikes, which will be carried out outside the range of Ukrainian army air defense.

As Defense Express reported, that Ukrainian Military Showed How the Swedish RBS-70 MANPADS Destroyed russian Ka-52 Alligator Helicopter. We also wrote, that Russian Ka-52 Helicopter almost Got Shot Down by Ukrainian FPV Drone.
