How many Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems did the russian invaders have as of 2025, how critical the loss of three systems in five days could be, and what tasks the enemy is trying to accomplish by deploying its air defense systems – these questions are answered by Defense Express expert, serviceman of the 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment "RAID" Ivan Kyrychevsky

According to official reports, UAV operators of the 413th Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces "Reid" hit three Tor-M2 SAM systems in five days of combat operations (from March 12 to 16 of this year). In two of these cases, the hit sites were confirmed to be located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhia region.

In the first case (March 12, 2026), the distance from the contact line to the site of the attack was about 100 kilometers. In the second case (March 15, 2026, the video was released the next day) - more than 50 kilometers from the contact line to the site of the attack.

In the episode of March 15 of this year, in addition to the 9A331M2 fire vehicle, two enemy servicemen were also eliminated (with a crew of 3 people).

If we consider the data for 2025, according to which the russian armed forces had 120 Tor SAM systems of all modifications, then three destroyed Tor-M2 systems in five days is a fairly high indicator of the rate of losses of such important systems for the russian occupation forces.

In the first two cases, it was also recorded that the strike was carried out by long-range attack UAVs manufactured by Fire Point. We can also note that in all three cases, no "last-minute" activity by the enemy was recorded on the video immediately before hitting the target, i.e., any attempts to shoot down these attack UAVs or change their position.

The above may indicate that the production and transfer to the troops of kamikaze drones from Fire Point (types FP-1 and FP-2) reached quite high rates. Therefore, such means can now be used not only to destroy important objects in the rear of the occupation forces, but also to destroy a large list of important targets, such as, in particular, enemy air defense systms.

Based on the nature of the localization of the hits of the Tor-M2 SAM system, it can be assumed that at the moment the enemy is forced to rebuild the configuration of its air defense in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, trying to simultaneously perform two tasks – to organize the cover of important objects and, at the same time, "close" the path for the "passage" of Ukrainian long-range UAVs for strikes on the territory of the russian federation.

Taking into account the above, it can be concluded that all components of the Unmanned Systems Forces group, in particular the 413th Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces "Reid", carry out the destruction of enemy targets not only at the forefront of the enemy's defense, in particular, they destroy manpower, but also actively use available means of destruction of anti-aircraft weapons at all available depths from the line of contact.

As Defense Express reported, Ukraine’s armed forces struck oil refinery in Saratov, russian troops command posts in occupied Mariupol. We also wrote, that Ukrainian drone hunters took down $16M Ka-52 helicopter with fiber-optic FPV.
