In July, the russian occupation forces launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Ukraine, but the Air Defense units managed to destroy two-thirds of them

The monitoring channel "monitor," primarily focused on tracking the activities of the russian strategic aviation, published detailed statistics of terrorist attacks that have been carried out by russia in July.

According to the calculations by "monitor," the occupiers launched 415 kamikaze drones and various types of missiles on Ukraine in the past month. Ukrainian Air Defense units managed to shoot down 293 airborne targets, which are equal to 70.6% of the total number of missiles.

Among the drones, the "Shahed" type had the highest number of launches in July. Out of the 31 days of July, kamikaze drones were launched for 17 days. Out of the 265 kamikaze drones launched by the occupiers in Ukraine, 206 were successfully shot down, accounting for over 77%.

Moreover, it was first known in July that the occupiers launched Shahed kamikaze drones, also known as "Geran". They are assembled or even manufactured directly in russia. Earlier, Defense Express provided a detailed account of five differences between the "iranian" and "russian" versions.

The recent attack on the night of August 2 demonstrates that the aggressors are constantly improving their tactics of missile and drone strikes, seeking to complicate the work of the Ukrainian Air Defense. This alarming trend includes launching kamikaze drones from three different directions, which undoubtedly complicates the Air Defense operations.

Regarding the russian missile attacks in July, it is worth noting a relatively high percentage of successfully intercepted Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, specifically over 90%. The Ukrainian Air Defense system shot down 37 out of 41 missiles, and all of these missiles were launched on the same day. The success rate in intercepting Kalibr missiles was slightly lower, with 39 missiles intercepted out of 54 launched, which amounts to just over 72%.

In July, the russian occupiers also used as many as 20 Oniks missiles for strikes on the Odessa region. Unfortunately, none of them were intercepted. These missiles are difficult to intercept, although there are measures to counter them. Additionally, 17 Kh-22 missiles were launched, but none of them were successfully intercepted.

Both of these missiles pose significant challenges for Ukrainian Air Defense systems (given the limited number of such SAM systems as Patriot). Furthermore, at the end of July, it became known that russia had upgraded the Oniks missiles and Kh-22 missiles to the level of the Kh-32 supersonic air-launched cruise missile.

During July, the occupiers also carried out isolated launches of four Kinzhal missiles, one Kh-59 missile, and three Iskander-M cruise missiles. Ukrainian Air Defense forces managed to shoot down two Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and one Kh-59 missile.

As Defense Express reported, The UK Defense Intelligence Discovered the Route for Large Deliveries of Iranian Kamikaze Drones to russia.
