Photos from the first tests of the Chinese ZHONG DA 79 container ship, which was last year equipped with a special container kit that allows to turn an ordinary civilian container ship into an air defense ship, have appeared on the network.
So far, the tests have only concerned navigation capabilities. However, given the pace demonstrated by the Chinese, it is likely that we will also see the first live fire tests with combat firing using a modular weapons kit soon.

ZHONG DA 79 is a regular commercial container ship, on which China decided to test the idea of quickly transforming a civilian ship into a air defense ship.
The set with which this container ship is armed consists of 15 sea containers, inside which 60 anti-aircraft missiles are hidden. Two radar stations are on board too, as well as 2 Type-1130 CIWS anti-aircraft guns (in land and sea versions), 4 Type 726-4 decoy launchers to counter anti-ship missiles, as well as 4 inflatable life rafts.

It is worth adding that the Chinese have recently installed a large electromagnetic catapult on the same container ship to launch various UAVs, including the well-known ones. To do this, they had to remove some of the anti-aircraft missiles and some other equipment.
China has perhaps the largest commercial fleet in the world. According to the strategic plans of the Chinese, absolutely all of these vessels, if necessary, can be quickly mobilized for military purposes.

This can also be used in the interests of a possible future invasion of Taiwan. China is developing this issue very rapidly. For example, the Chinese recently conducted training on building a huge "wall" of fishing vessels in the sea, over 500 km long.
It is also worth remembering about the monstrous floating docks, namely that China received the second batch of such floating docks just a few days ago. They can become one of the most important means of ensuring the landing of a marine assault on Taiwan, as they will receive on the coast roll-on-roll-offs converted into large landing ships.
While China is experimenting, Defense Express calls on you to join a fundraising for what is already working: One United Fundraiser: Fundraising by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation for interceptor drones.
