Ukrainian developers have enhanced the Magura V5 naval drones, enabling them to operate alongside decoy drones that overwhelm russian defense systems. This strategy ensures that the main strike units can effectively reach their targets, according to ArmyInform.
The Magura V5 drone boasts several key advantages, including advanced guidance system for high strike accuracy, an 800-kilometer operational range, and remote control via secure communication channels. With a 300-kilogram payload, the drone carries enough explosives to disable large enemy vessels. Additionally, it can be equipped with missile weaponry, further expanding its capabilities.

A recent operation highlighted the drone’s unprecedented versatility, as it became the first naval drone in history to successfully engage airborne targets. Ukrainian forces used the Magura V5 drone to destroy two russian helicopters and seriously damage the third.
“A helicopter is a fast-moving target. The moment it appears in sight, you only have a few minutes to take up an advantageous position for launch. We calculated everything precisely, and the missile hit the target on the first attempt,” the commander of the Group 13 unit said.
