However, as of now South Korean military aid to help Ukraine to confront russian aggression will consist of bulletproof vests and helmets

On April 11 the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Korea during his visit to send key military assets, including heavy armor, air defense systems and other vital armaments.

According to the Army Recognition website, first of all South Korea could hand over Soviet-made armored vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, namely 43 T-80U tanks and 67 BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.

South Korea received them from Russia during 1995-2006 to repay the debts of the former Soviet Union. Nowadays these T-80U and BMP-3 are used to simulate an "aggressor" during military exercises. Supposedly, after 2020 South Korea planned to begin decommissioning of its Soviet-made armored vehicles.

So far, however, South Korea has not dared to hand over heavy weapons to Ukraine yet.

According to the South Korean newspaper Yonhap News, Seoul has decided to provide Ukraine with "non-lethal military aid" worth 2 million dollars, including helmets, bulletproof vests and medicines.

Defense Express reminds, that The UK has already created the list of armored vehicles to send to Ukraine.
