Ukrainian operators from the Prime unit reveal how locally built UAVs are hitting targets up to 50 kilometers away and surviving enemy fire

On one of the most intense frontlines of the war, drone operators from the Prime unit of the 5th Border Guard Detachment continue to inflict devastating damage on enemy positions. These fighters, often working under harsh and high-risk conditions, rely on technology to maintain a tactical edge. Among their most effective tools are modern combat drones, many of which are domestically produced.

In a recently released video, an operator with the callsign Kiper shared insights into how the Darts drones are being deployed at the front. According to him, the Darts drone is enabling the unit to operate with increased precision and lethality against russian forces.

The Darts drone can reach targets at a distance of 40 to 50 kilometers and travels at a speed of 160 km/h. It carries a 4-kilogram warhead, making it effective against a range of enemy equipment and positions. This capability allows Ukrainian forces to strike deeply and accurately into temporarily occupied territory without exposing personnel to direct danger.

Its aerodynamic design also plays a crucial role in combat resilience. The drone's fuselage can withstand multiple hits from small arms fire, which significantly increases its chances of reaching the target. Additionally, the drone is built to optimize battery energy use, allowing it to remain in the air longer and engage targets at extended ranges.

One of the most critical features of the Darts drone is its resistance to enemy electronic warfare systems. In a war where signal jamming and cyber interference are constant threats, this resilience provides a major tactical advantage. Furthermore, the drone is equipped with autonomous targeting, allowing it to strike enemy vehicles without manual control, even in contested electronic environments.

Kiper emphasized the importance of these capabilities on the battlefield, stating that such drones are not only efficient but critical for maintaining Ukraine's operational momentum.

"We thank the developers for creating this effective little aircraft. We hope for further deliveries, which will definitely bring results," he said.
