The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) sent a message to the US Congress regarding the sale of missile weapons to Taiwan for their F-16 fighters as part of the Foreign Military Sales program.
According to the report, Taiwan has requested the US to supply 100 units of the AGM-88B HARM anti-radar missiles (as well as 23 units of the HARM training missiles) and 200 units of the AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles.

In addition, the list also includes four AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM control sections, 26 LAU-129 missile launchers, LAU-118A missile launchers, spare parts, consumables, repair assistance, secret software, support services, logistics, etc.
According to preliminary data, the total cost of such a purchase may likely reach $619 million.
Defense Express reminds that the AGM-88 HARM is an anti-radar missile designed to destroy enemy radar stations, the most modern version of the AGM-88G AARGM-ER can destroy targets at a distance of up to 300 km. It is in service with the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, supplied to the United States as part of defense assistance and launched from MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters.
The AIM-120 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile) is an air-to-air guided missile designed to destroy air targets beyond direct line of sight. The AIM-120C-8 (AIM-120D) version has a launch range of over 160 km.
