International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), administrated by the UK Ministry of Defense, has announced its intention to purchase new weapons and equipment for Ukraine.

The Ministry is currently accepting proposals until May 4, 2023, from potential suppliers for the supply of guided rockets or missiles. These projectiles should have a firing range between 100 km and 300 km, and their potential payload should range from 20 kg to 490 kg. The technical requirements highlight the ability to overcome enemy air defenses, a low probability of interception, mission planning capabilities, and resilience against various hostile electronic warfare systems.

There is a possibility that the UK is genuinely seeking a commercial supplier for rocket weaponry capable of hitting targets at distances of up to 300 km. The Turkish MBRL (Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher), produced by Roketsan, which can launch a wide range of missiles, including ballistic KHAN missiles with a range of up to 300 km, is a great option.

Alternatively, it is also possible that the United Kingdom intends to remove the remaining political obstacles hindering the transfer of ATACMS missiles from the United States to Ukraine.

Moreover, the British Ministry of Defense will be accepting proposals for the supply of mine rollers and mine plows for tanks such as the T-72, Leopard 2 and Leopard 1, as well as armored mine clearing vehicles. It is also looking for armored vehicle launched bridges and heavy equipment transporters.

Interestingly, the British authorities have not publicly disclosed the allocated budget or the quantity of equipment they plan to acquire for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Furthermore, they have not revealed the delivery time of the purchased weaponry to the Ukrainian military.
