Recent images confirm Iran’s ongoing supply of fresh artillery shells to russian forces

Iran continues to supply artillery shells to russian forces. Recent photos have surfaced online showing Iranian-made copies of the OF-482M 130 mm shells, which are being used by russia in Marinka area with their M-46 guns.

The post underscores two significant points about russia receiving ammunition from its allies. First, Iranian 130 mm shells are rarely documented in photos or videos, unlike those from North Korea. Second, while North Korea mostly sends artillery ammunition from its stockpiles, Iran is supplying shells directly from its production lines, such as the 130 mm shells marked with the year 2024, batch 10.

This isn’t the first instance of fresh Iranian-made ammunition appearing on the battlefield in the hands of russian forces. Earlier this year, a photo emerged showing three 122 mm shells held by the enemy: one russian-made, one from North Korea and one from Iran. Russian and Iranian shells were produced in 2023, while the North Korean shell appeared old and rusty, suggesting it may have been repainted.

Additionally, russia has previously complained about consistent quality issues with North Korean ammunition.
