Drone operators from the 413th Battalion of the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine hit a unique enemy Zaslon shipborne radar, which the russian forces had installed on a truck. A video showing the final stages of this operation was posted on the unit's official social media.
"It turns out that Zaslon is a unique shipboard radar system that detects targets at a distance of up to 300 km, simultaneously tracks up to 200 objects, and seems to have never been hit during the entire war," the video commentary reads.

Importantly, the system is not to be confused with the N007 Zaslon radar for aircraft, a more modern variant of which can be found in the MiG-31 fighter, for example. The system tracked down and destoyed in this instance, albeit bearing an identical name, was developed by JSC Zaslon, based in St. Petersburg.

Naval Zaslon is a multi-function, three-dimensional radar system developed for corvette-class warships. It is designed to serve as the central component of a ship's sensor and command suite, offering early detection, target classification, electronic warfare capabilities, and fire control integration.

The manufacturer also attributes such functions as determining the target's coordinates and motion parameters, auto tracking, digital mapping of surroundings and using the created digital map as overlay for radar information. Though we should note that its positioned as a multi-domain radar, so the extent of its capabilities when transitioned from airborne to surface deployment is unknown.

According to information listed by Deagel, Zaslon is capable of handling low-altitude flying targets and shore-based targets with electromagnetic signature. JSC Zaslon has reported the radar development was completed in summer 2017 with the operational deployment planned for 2020 or 2021 aboard a nuclear powered Kirov-class missile cruiser or a Project 20386 stealth corvette — a failed russian undertaking, cancelled in July 2023.
Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukraine's 413th Battalion had taken down 11 russian air-defense positions in April, named juiciest targets.
