In its turn Russia has still failed to gain control of the air. Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said about three russian helicopters shot down that day. Information unveiled by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows that russia’s losses in Ukrainian airspace on the Day 24th of the aggression are more dramatic

"On Saturday, March 19, the enemy significantly reduced its presence in the Ukrainian sky. Therefore, unfortunately, the air defense shot down only three helicopters of the Russian fascists today [March 19]. So, the daily plan for the disposal of air Russcists was not fulfilled," the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted on its official page on Facebook.

It is stated that in order to fulfill this plan, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expects the allies not only to make statements and applause to the Ukrainian Heroes, but to provide modern air defense systems and fighters.

"Currently, the Air Force successfully beat the occupiers with weapons of the 1980s, while the Russcists use the latest weapons against us – hypersonic missiles and aircraft – which significantly surpass our weapons both in number and combat characteristics. The situation may change radically when modern equipment from partners comes into service and we close the sky from RuSScist terrorism," the statement reads.

Later the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published new summary of total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02 to 20.03.

If to compare the figures with those unveiled by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the day before(from 24.02 to 19.03), we can find that russias aviation suffer bigger losses.

Inspite of the fact that “enemy significantly reduced its presence in the Ukrainian sky”, losses of russia’s aircrafts on Saturday, March 19, were the next:

- 1 aircraft;

- 3 helicopters;

- 4 UAV’s.

The interesting fact that on Saturday, March 19, Defense Intelligence of UK Ministry of Defense publishing the latest intelligence update on the situation in Ukraine, statted that russia had still failed to gain control of Ukrainian airspace, one of its main objectives for occupaiers.

“The Ukrainian Air Force and Air Defense Forces are continuing to effectively defend Ukrainian airspace. Russia has still failed to gain control of the air and is largely relying on stand-off weapons launched from the relative safety of Russian air space to strike targets within Ukraine. Gaining control of the air was one of Russia’s principal objectives for the opening days of the conflict and their continued failure to do so has significantly blunted their operational progress,” - reads the statement.
