Ukrainian Phoenix drone unit, operating under the State Border Guard Service, continues regular strike missions targeting russian forces in Kharkiv region. According to recent operational data, the unit has successfully carried out a series of drone-guided attacks against russian military equipment and logistics.
Among the confirmed targets in the latest report are a russian armored personnel carrier, a main battle tank, a 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, and an 82mm mortar. Additionally, the unit destroyed one communications antenna and five military trucks. Video footage from the operation shows several vehicles engulfed in flames following the strikes.

The Phoenix unit is one of the leading teams in Ukraine's border guard drone fleet. These units specialize in identifying and engaging enemy targets using commercial and modified UAV platforms equipped with precision-guided munitions or drop systems.
The strikes are part of a broader Ukrainian effort to reduce russian logistical capacity and slow down the movement of heavy equipment near the frontline. Eliminating vehicles, artillery, and communications infrastructure limits the ability of russian forces to support their ground operations effectively.
The pilots in the unit reportedly carry out their missions on a continuous basis and maintain a consistent operational rhythm. Despite prolonged deployments and challenging battlefield conditions, internal reports emphasize the unit's efficiency and cohesion.
As Defense Express previously reported, recently released archival footage sheds light on a daring assault carried out by fighters of the russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) near Kupiansk in Kharkiv region. The operation, part of the spring campaign, was conducted by the Timur special unit and highlights the intensity of localized offensive actions on one of the most contested sectors of the frontline.
The footage, reportedly recorded earlier this year, shows a small assault group advancing on enemy positions using two M113 armored personnel carriers. Despite sustaining damage, with one of the vehicles struck by russian FPV drone, the unit managed to press forward, underlining the high-risk and high-resilience nature of their operation.
