The 675-sb3KDZ is a unique vehicle with armor that is reinforced with polymer panels. In theory, the armor should protect the vehicle from large-caliber machine guns and anti-tank grenades while preserving the amphibious capability. The weight of the 675-sb3KDZ is not too big to obstruct swimming, although the exact figure is unknown.

russians began to increase the armor of the BMP-2 to the level of 675-sb3KDZ at the turn of 2021-2022. It is known that russia does not have many such vehicles.
"However, russia's ability to produce such vehicles is not unlimited, as they are not used on the battlefield very often," sprotyv.info writes.
In particular, the Defense Forces of Ukraine neutralized about 40 such vehicles as well as at least 3 were captured.
