Polish Krab self-propelled howitzer became one of the first 155mm artilleries in service with Ukrainian Army

The Ministry of Defense Of Ukraine on X expressed thanks to Polish partners for their constant support and, in particular, for providing us with an AHS Krab self-propelled howitzer. "Tomorrow we'll present one more Weapon of Victory in our Advent Calendar. Stay tuned!" - posted Ukrainian MoD.

At the same time, on Sunday, the Polish PAP agency informed that Krab became one of the first 155mm artilleries in service with the Ukrainian Army. This howitzer also became a nightmare for occupiers in the skillful hands of the artillerymen. Poland has already handed over 18 Krab self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. Another 56 Krab howitzers are being prepared for delivery.

"AHS Krab is a self-propelled howitzer on a tracked chassis manufactured by Huta Stalowa Wola SA. Poland handed over 18 such vehicles to Ukraine from the reserves of the Polish Army," the agency said. It was recalled that Kyiv and Warsaw also "signed a contract for the production and transfer of 56 Krabs".

It is reported that since the beginning of Russia's military actions against Ukraine, Poland has also handed over Piorun portable anti-aircraft missile systems, Grot carbines, PT-91, T-72, Leopard 2 tanks, and MiG-29 aircraft to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Deliveries of Rak self-propelled mortar systems and Rosomak infantry fighting vehicles (100 units) are being prepared.

The AHS Krab is a 155 mm NATO-compatible self-propelled tracked gun-howitzer designed in Poland by Huta Stalowa Wola, by combining the South Korean K9 Thunder chassis with a British BAE Systems AS-90M Braveheart turret with a Rheinmetall 52-calibre gun produced under license by HSW and the Polish WB Electronics' Topaz artillery fire control system.
