Fighters from the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine have successfully destroyed two russian Nebo radar stations and Buk surface-to-air missile system, dealing a significant blow to the enemy's air defense network. Exclusive footage of the precision strikes was released on October 24, 2025, showing the destruction of the high-value assets on temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
According to the official statement, the operations were conducted by specialists from the Department of Active Operations. Between October 23 and 24, the group identified and eliminated three high-cost air defense targets: the Buk-M3 self-propelled launcher and two 1L119 Nebo-SVU radar systems.

The Nebo-SVU radar, a key element of russia's layered air defense network, is designed to detect and track aerial threats at long ranges, including aircraft and ballistic missiles. Its destruction severely reduces the enemy's ability to detect Ukrainian drones and long-range strike systems in the southern theater of operations. The Buk-M3 system, meanwhile, represents one of russia's most modern medium-range surface-to-air missile systems, capable of engaging multiple targets simultaneously.
The strikes reportedly took place across several occupied regions, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea, highlighting Ukraine's expanding operational reach and growing capability to strike critical russian assets far behind the front lines. Each of these regions plays a strategic role in russia's effort to defend occupied territories and maintain control over logistics and airspace.
The coordinated elimination of these systems suggests a high level of intelligence integration, possibly involving satellite surveillance, signals interception, and reconnaissance drone support. Ukrainian intelligence has increasingly relied on such combined methods to locate and neutralize complex, mobile targets within russia's multi-layered air defense network.
As Defense Express previously reported, in the night of October 23, 2025, Ukrainian forces carried out a coordinated strike against two major russian military-linked targets – the Ryazan Oil Refinery and an ammunition depot near the town of Valuyki in Belgorod region. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the operation, reporting explosions and large fires at both sites.
