Ukrainian forces hit key air defense assets in occupied Crimea, targeting russian Nebo-U radar near Evpatoria and Pantsir-S1 system near Khutorok

Ukrainian forces have struck multiple russian air defense assets on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, delivering another blow to Moscow's layered air defense network on the peninsula. The operation was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the official statement, the Nebo-U radar system was hit in the Evpatoria area. The Nebo-U system is a long-range surveillance radar used to detect and track aerodynamic targets, including aircraft and cruise missiles, and plays a key role in early warning and target designation for russian air defense units.

In a separate strike near the settlement of Khutorok, Ukrainian forces engaged the Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system. The Pantsir-S1 system is designed to protect high-value assets and air defense nodes from aerial threats, including drones and precision-guided munitions, making it a critical component of russia's point defense layer.

Together, russian Nebo-U radar and Pantsir-S1 system form part of an integrated air defense architecture, where long-range detection assets are paired with short-range systems responsible for close protection. Disabling elements of this network reduces situational awareness and degrades the overall effectiveness of russian air defenses in Crimea.

In addition to the strikes on the peninsula, Ukrainian forces also targeted an unmanned aerial vehicle storage and preparation site in the Donetsk area of temporarily occupied Donetsk region. Such facilities are essential for sustaining drone operations, including reconnaissance and strike missions.

As Defense Express previously reported, operators from the Prime UAV unit of the 5th Border Guard Detachment have conducted a successful strike against russian positions on the Northern Slobozhansk axis, destroying a range of enemy assets.
