Artillery reconnaissance from the 15th Brigade detected and eliminated critical components of russian Buk-M2 air defense system

On April 21, 2025, artillery reconnaissance units from the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade successfully detected and targeted key components of russian Buk-M2 surface-to-air missile system. The strike resulted in the destruction of both launcher and loader-launcher vehicle of the medium-range air defense system.

The operation took place on a strategically important sector of the front. Once the enemy equipment was located, its coordinates were promptly relayed to cooperating Ukrainian units, which carried out a precise strike and neutralized the threat.

The elimination of these Buk-M2 components significantly weakens the russian military's air defense capabilities, creating more favorable conditions for the operation of Ukrainian aircraft in the area. This event highlights the critical role of advanced reconnaissance technologies and the precision of modern artillery in contemporary warfare.

The Buk-M2 is a self-propelled air defense system designed to intercept aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters, and with modern missiles, even ballistic targets. Its destruction not only reduces the enemy's defensive posture but also showcases the growing effectiveness of Ukrainian joint operations and battlefield technology.
