The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed a successful hit on radars and a launcher of russian S-400 air defense system

Ukrainian military intelligence has carried out a targeted drone operation against components of russian S-400 Triumf air defense system in temporarily occupied Crimea. The attack, conducted by the Prymary elite unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, resulted in the destruction of several critical and high-value elements of the system.

According to an official statement, the drones struck at the core of the S-400system's radar infrastructure. The published footage documents the precise hits on the system's most essential components. The strike is part of an ongoing Ukrainian effort to degrade russian air defense capabilities in the region, where the Kremlin continues to deploy advanced weapons systems.

Specifically, Ukrainian drones successfully targeted and struck two 92N2E multifunctional radar systems and two 91N6E detection radars. These radars serve as the "eyes" of the S-400 system, providing tracking, target acquisition, and fire control functions. Without them, the missile system becomes largely blind and inoperable.

The attack also damaged or destroyed at least one S-400 launch system, further reducing the operational capability of the battery. Given the cost and technological sophistication of these components, the losses represent both a tactical and financial blow to russian forces.

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine emphasized the strategic implications of the operation. "Radars are the "eyes" of the enemy's air defense system. Without them, the air defense systems become non-functional," the agency stated, underlining the cascading effect of neutralizing such systems in contested airspace.

This strike is one of a series of coordinated attacks targeting russian air defense assets in Crimea. By methodically dismantling the S-400 network, Ukrainian forces aim to open up previously inaccessible airspace for future operations and limit Moscow's ability to repel incoming drone and missile strikes.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have carried out a high-precision strike operation on the border area, eliminating multiple russian military assets.

The footage reveals the coordinated efforts of FPV drone operators and reconnaissance UAV teams, who worked together to identify, track, and target russian positions. The integration of real-time aerial intelligence and strike capability allowed Ukrainian forces to maximize damage while minimizing their exposure to return fire.
