After a period of relative silence, Ukraine forces have publicly showed a renewed combat use of the Bayraktar TB2 system, one of the most well-known drones in the country's arsenal, TheDeadDistrict reports on X. On June 24, the Ukrainian Navy released video footage showing the drone striking russian boat in Kherson region.
The footage, which circulated widely on social media, shows the Bayraktar TB2 drone conducting a precision strike against a vessel operating in a riverine zone. According to the Ukrainian Navy, the enemy boat was successfully destroyed as a result of the strike.

This marks the first publicly shown use of the system in several months. While other unmanned systems, particularly smaller FPV drones, have taken the spotlight in recent operations, the Bayraktar TB2 drone's reappearance demonstrates its continued relevance in Ukraine's drone warfare strategy.
The Bayraktar TB2, developed by Turkish company Baykar, gained early prominence in the war for its ability to target russian armored vehicles, air defense systems, and logistics assets. However, its use became less visible as russian electronic warfare and air defense systems adapted to its presence.
Despite this, Ukrainian forces appear to be using the platform selectively and effectively, particularly in lower-risk environments such as riverine operations, where russian air defenses are limited. The recent strike indicates that the Bayraktar TB2 system remains a viable asset for situational dominance and precision engagements.
As Defense Express previosly reported, recent reports highlight the destruction of enemy defense enterprises, ammunition depots, air defense systems, and combat vehicles through the use of domestically produced unmanned aerial vehicles.
Local manufacturers are providing high-quality and reliable drone systems tailored to the needs of military intelligence and frontline operations. These UAVs are used both to destroy equipment on the battlefield and to strike military targets located deep behind enemy lines.
