The assault began with artillery fire from 120-mm mortars, followed by an attack from the front and left flank. Despite the intense assault, Ukrainian defenders fought back fiercely for over two hours.

Using aerial reconnaissance and support from neighboring positions, the border guards destroyed both enemy infantry fighting vehicles. Out of the assaulting forces, 12 enemy soldiers were eliminated, and two were captured alive.
This resolute defense by the Kramatorsk Border Guard Detachment marks another example of the resilience and effectiveness of Ukrainian forces on the frontlines.
