russian occupiers are using jet-powered KABs to strike Ukraine. However, Ukrainian air defense systems are capable of shooting them down. This statement was made by Yurii Ihnat, head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force, during an interview on Suspilne TV.

He noted that russia's guided jet-powered bombs have started reaching the Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Poltava regions. According to Ihnat, russia uses such weapons occasionally to test the effectiveness and response of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Commenting on the recent russian attack on the Odesa region, the military officer said that these bombs do not pose a significant threat, as they can be intercepted by air defense systems.
"This is the same type of bomb launched from a Su-34 aircraft. In terms of its flight characteristics, it is similar to a cruise missile, so it can be intercepted by air defense systems. Yesterday, the Air Command South confirmed the interception of two such extended-range guided bombs; experts will determine their exact type. The fall of the third bomb was recorded in an open area without consequences," Ihnat stated.
He also called for restraint, noting that the enemy is using many aerial weapons and continues to improve them. However, Ukraine and its partners are also developing their defense technologies.

Ihnat added that the war opens up opportunities for improving both defensive and offensive weapons.
Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukrainian Intelligence had destroyed russian Buk air defense system and two Nebo radars.
