That is according Yurii Ihnat, spokesman for Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The historic decision to transfer the F-16 will be an impetus on the way to our victory. I hope that this will happen as soon as possible. Regarding the quantity, of course, no one will hand over these planes one by one. These aircraft will be transferred by units. Aviation units are at least a squadron. In our version, it is 12 plus planes. Western partners have more squadrons - up to 18 aircraft," Yuriy Ignat stated during the national telethon.

According to him, several dozen aircraft can be transferred to Ukraine to solve current tasks.
"So initially several dozen aircraft might be transferred to Ukraine for us to deal with our ongoing tasks," the spokesman for Ukraine’s Air Force noted.
Yuriy Ignat noted that the number of equipment that is being, or will be, transferred to Ukraine, "will not for the time being be publicly announced".

As Defense Express reported, Joe Biden informed his colleagues that the "US will support a joint effort with allies and partners to train Ukrainian pilots on fourth generation aircraft, including F-16s." At the same time the basis of eventual coalition to supply Ukraine with the F-16 fighter jets has been formed.
