Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a press conference on July 15.
When asked about Ukraine's monthly production of Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems, Zelenskyy responded: "Currently, we're producing a significant number of Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems. Among European factories, our enterprise leads in monthly artillery system production."

The head of state noted that Ukraine currently produces a "significant number" of Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems per month but did not specify the exact quantity.
According to Defense Express, Ukraine's Bohdana 155mm howitzer production rate doubled and keeps growing. In late 2023, the industry produced only six 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled guns monthly, but by spring 2024, it has reached ten units a month.
Another part of the question was whether Ukraine is developing its long-range weapons.
"We are currently working on other systems that will enhance our long-range capabilities," Zelenskyy added.
As previously reported by Defense Express, the Danish government will fund the production of 18 Ukrainian 2S22 Bohdana wheeled howitzers, which will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
How many self-propelled artillery units are produced in Europe?
According to Defense Express, in October 2023, France was producing six CAESAR self-propelled artillery units per month. In 2024, this figure was expected to increase to 8 units per month.
Defense Express also reported that Poland allocated 800 million zlotys for the recapitalization of the Bumar-Labedy plant. This will allow the launch of a new production line in a few years with the expected capacity to produce an additional 54 Krab 155mm self-propelled artillery units per year.
