For Ukraine, this will be the third U.S. aid package just in October

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive soon a new military aid package from the United States worth 275 million dollars, which will be directed to the ammunition replenishment. According to Associated Press, the official transfer of aid will be announced today, October 28.

The new package will not contain new samples of heavy weapons, but it is about providing the existing needs for HIMARS, M270 and Mars II missiles, as well as artillery systems.

Also, obtaining additional GMLRS ammunition may be connected with their increasing number in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, Germany recently strengthened Ukraine with two additional Mars II systems (the German version of the M270), which brings the number of high-precision missile systems of this class to more than 30 units (HIMARS, M270 and Mars II). And such a number of systems requires constant replenishment of missile stocks.

Despite the relatively small cost of the tranche, it is the third military aid since the beginning of October: the US already allocated $625 million worth aid, and in mid-October, $725 million. That is, in just October, Washington has transferred weapons worth $1.6 billion, and the total amount of US support is already approaching the mark of $18 billion.
