In a precision nighttime strike, Ukrainian resistance units eliminated russian TRLK-10 Skala-M radar in Abrykosivka, significantly disrupting russia's airspace control over Crimea

In the night of August 9-10, 2025, the Special Operations Forces' Resistance units successfully destroyed stationary TRLK-10 Skala-M radar system in the village of Abrykosivka, located in temporarily occupied Crimea. The strike represents another precise blow to russia's air surveillance capabilities on the peninsula.

According to the Special Operations Forces, the Skala-M system is a Soviet-russian long-range tracking radar system equipped with both primary and secondary target detection capabilities. It is used to monitor and manage air traffic in designated routes and approach zones, making it a valuable asset in controlling the skies.

The radar boasts a detection range of up to 350 kilometers, enabling it to track a wide array of airborne targets across significant distances. Its operational role extends beyond civilian air control, serving as an integral element of the russian military's situational awareness and coordination for aerial missions.

By targeting the Skala-M system, Ukrainian forces have disrupted a component of russia's integrated air defense and surveillance network in Crimea. This, according to the Special Operations Forces representatives, will significantly reduce the enemy's ability to deploy combat aircraft for strikes against Ukrain's critical infrastructure and civilian areas.

The operation underscores the growing reach and precision of Ukrainian special operations within temporarily occupied territory. Strikes on high-value military assets in Crimea have become more frequent, signaling that Ukraine is intensifying pressure on russia's rear-area logistics, intelligence, and command systems.

Degrading radar and air surveillance systems not only limits the enemy's operational planning but also increases the effectiveness of Ukrainian air and missile operations. Without reliable radar coverage, russian forces face greater risks when deploying aircraft over contested and temporarily occupied territories.

As Defense Express previously reported, on the front lines of Sumy region, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has conducted a precise and coordinated operation aimed at crippling the logistics of russian forces. A combined detachment of drone warfare specialists carried out the mission, striking deep into the enemy's supply routes.
