Ukrainian drones target key enemy systems, reducing their fire capabilities

The 427th Rarog Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of drone warfare on the battlefield. In a recent operation, Ukrainian forces successfully targeted and struck three enemy artillery and mortar systems, reducing the firepower of russian forces. A video of the strikes was published on the Regiment's official page.

The drones destroyed or disabled three key enemy systems: the 2A36 Giatsint-B 152 mm towed gun, the D-20 152mm howitzer, and the 2B11 120 mm mortar, part of the 2S12 Sani system.

These systems are integral to the enemy’s indirect fire capabilities, allowing them to target Ukrainian positions from a distance. The 2A36 Giatsint-B is a long-range artillery piece, capable of launching high-explosive and cluster munitions, while the D-20 howitzer, a widely used Soviet-era system, is still commonly employed in artillery units. The 2B11 mortar, part of the 2S12 Sani system, is typically used for close fire support, adding further value to its neutralization.

The use of kamikaze drones reflects the growing reliance on unmanned systems in modern warfare. These drones have proven to be a highly effective and cost-efficient method of targeting and neutralizing high-value military assets while minimizing risks to personnel. The destruction of these artillery and mortar systems significantly reduces the enemy’s ability to conduct sustained shelling operations, creating a tactical advantage for Ukrainian forces.

As Defense Express reported, Ukrainian drone operators continue to strike at russian forces, effectively neutralizing key enemy assets. In the Pokrovsk sector, pilots from the Bulava UAV Battalion of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade successfully carried out a series of precision strikes.
