The mobile ballistic missile system, capable of Mach 11 speeds, is now deployed against Ukrainian targets

On November 21, 2024, russia launched a ballistic missile, likely from its Kedr missile system, targeting Ukraine. The missile, fired from Astrakhan region, reached the city of Dnipro in just 15 minutes, underscoring its alarming speed and precision.

Equipped with six warheads, each carrying six submunitions, the missile traveled at a velocity exceeding Mach 11 in its terminal phase. This marks a significant display of destructive capability, likely aimed at undermining Ukraine’s resilience amidst the ongoing war.

The Kedr mobile missile system reflects the involvement of numerous russian military-industrial enterprises, including:

  • JSC Corporation Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering;
  • JSC Federal Research and Production Center Titan-Barricades;
  • JSC Main Special Design Bureau Prozhektor;
  • JSC Concern Sozvezdiye;
  • JSC Research and Production Enterprise Spetsenergomechanika;
  • LLC Research Center for Special Equipment and Conversion Continent.

Testing for the Kedr system was conducted at the Kapustin Yar test site in October 2023 and June 2024, suggesting its operational deployment was meticulously prepared.

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine strongly condemned the attack, reaffirming that all war crimes committed by russia will face just retribution.
