As of December 18, there are 62,000 russian servicemen in the Bakhmut direction. The number of occupiers on this part of the front is not decreasing

This was stated by the head of the Public Relations Service of the Ground Forces Command, Volodymyr Fityo, on the air of the National telethon.

"There are 62,000 Russian occupiers in the Bakhmut direction. Their number is almost unchanged. But they are raising reserves to replenish losses, and the enemy's losses are serious," Volodymyr Fityo emphasizes.

According to him Ukraine’s troops are in active defense in the Bakhmut Direction and they repel enemy assaults. Over the past day, six enemy attacks were repelled, 135 invaders were eliminated.

"In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy is trying to press. We see the presence of russian paratrooper units, marine units, Z and V assault units, that were formed from former prisoners," Fityo said.

The russians are trying to advance towards the city of Chasiv Yar. Also in Donetsk region, the russian army is trying to advance in the area of Bohdanivka, Ivanivskyi, Klishchiivka, Andriivka.

As Defense Express reported, russian invasion forces spared no effort, nor manpower, nor equipment in never-stopping assaults in an attempt to take Avdiivka, an industrial town in eastern Ukraine.
