"The letter of intent means that the parties will work on the purchase of additional Combat Vehicles 90 (CV90) for Ukraine, which will strengthen the overall potential of the Ukrainian defense forces," the message reads.

Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson confirmed that Copenhagen and Stockholm will use industrial potential to ensure the supply of new CV90s to Ukraine.

"CV90s have been and remain an important addition to the defense of Ukraine since Sweden handed over 50 machines earlier this year," he added.

Combat Vehicle 90 is a family of Swedish infantry fighting vehicles. It is a development of the company BAE Systems-Hägglunds. Series production of the CV90 began in 1993. In total, about 1,170 vehicles in various modifications were produced, most of which were exported to other countries. Such vehicles are in service with the Scandinavian countries, Estonia and the Netherlands. They have reinforced armor that can withstand being hit by 30mm shells. The CV90 IFV is armed with 40mm L70 Bofors gun. Sweden previously handed over 50 such IFVs to Ukraine.

As Defense Express reported, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Stated That Ukraine and Sweden Would Establish Joint Production of CV90 IFVs.
