Ukrainian Armed Forces took down a russian Su-25 attack aircraft, according to the press service of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, a video of this episode was shared on the military unit's social media.
The description and the footage itself suggest that a man-portable Igla missile was used to bring the russian aircraft down.

It was passing by Ukrainian positions as it was spotted and hit. The brigade claims that after the collision the Su-25 went down. There was also a downed Su-25 mentioned in the daily report by Ukraine's General Staff.
Apparently, the pilot attempted to outmaneuver the incoming missile but failed to do so. The video captured the moment the missile exploded once it got close enough to the jet.
This is the second time a russian Su-25 is caught by Ukrainian air defense this month. Previously on June 7, another attack aircraft of this type was destroyed as well but there is only that little information as a brief note in a daily report.
So far Su-25 have suffered the most losses among all types of russian aircraft engaged in the invasion of Ukraine. The Oryx OSINT community has counted 29 Su-25 casualties confirmed with visual evidence.
Earlier Defense Express covered that russians introduced another modernization for the Su-25 which had been "enhanced using the experience" gained in by the russian military during its operations in Ukraine, it includes integration of "new weapons." Although the manufacturer did not specify, we already have some thoughts of what it could be.
