The first group of 25 Polish soldiers at the newly established Army Pre-positioned Stocks-2 (APS-2) facility in Powidz successfully completed a training program focused on servicing M1A2 SepV3 Abrams tanks. This program is a key component of NATO and U.S. initiatives to strengthen military infrastructure in Eastern Europe, particularly near the russian border. This was reported by Bulgarian Military.
After the first group of Polish soldiers completes their training, other military personnel will be prepared in the coming months. The goal of the program is to create sufficient capacity within the Polish army to independently service M1A2 SEPV3 Abrams tanks. As a result, Polish units will be able to maintain high readiness of their armored vehicles.

Observers note that modern Abrams tanks, which are a key element of the U.S. defense strategy, play an important role for Poland as well as for the entire region. Therefore, the training conducted prepares Polish specialists for the long-term maintenance and repair of these combat vehicles, which is critical for their effective operation.
The establishment of the APS-2 facility in Powidz is part of a broader strategy for cooperation between the U.S. and its NATO allies. This facility ensures operational readiness and allows for the rapid deployment of modern military equipment in Europe. Its location, just a few hundred kilometers from the borders of russia and belarus, enhances NATO's capabilities for quick responses to potential threats in the region.

Analysts also emphasize that the APS-2 facility plays a key role in the deployment and maintenance of military equipment, such as Abrams tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles, and artillery systems. The ability to rapidly deploy heavy equipment in times of war significantly reduces response time and enhances NATO's effectiveness in potential conflicts with russia, where every minute can be critical.
