Satellite imagery shows more than 2,900 square meters of damage at russia's Progress Rocket and Space Center in Samara following Ukrainian strike on August 15

Satellite imagery has revealed extensive damage to russia's Progress Rocket and Space Center in Samara following Ukrainian strike on August 15. The facility is a key part of russia's space and missile-launch infrastructure and is responsible for the serial production of Soyuz-2 launch vehicles.

The images, published by the Exilenova+, indicate that the area affected by the strike covers more than 2,900 square meters.

The damage is concentrated around a section of the facility that plays a critical role in preparing rockets for final assembly.

According to the assessment, two impacts hit Building 106A. The building is used to install onboard electrical equipment, control systems, cable networks and instrument compartments on Soyuz-2 rockets. Building 106B, which is involved in final assembly, is located nearby.

The August 15 attack was reportedly carried out with Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles. Ukrainian

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy subsequently confirmed that Ukrainian long-range weapons had struck the Progress center in Samara as part of a series of attacks against strategic facilities deep inside russia.
