It should be recalled that the TOS-2 Tosochka is an advanced version of the TOS-type heavy flamethrower systems (TOS-1 Buratino/TOS-1A Solntsepyok) that russia uses on the battlefield in Ukraine.

For the first time The TOS-2 Tosochka system was demonstrated at the Caucasus-2020 strategic command and staff exercise.

At that time, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation reported on it. russian propagandists also showed footage of this system.

At the same time, the first real confirmation that the enemy was using Tosochka on the battlefield in Ukraine came in January 2024, when a photo of the system in the Luhansk region was posted online. It was captured by a Ukrainian reconnaissance UAV. Then Tosochka was not be destroyed.

As of today, it remains unclear how many of these systems are in service with the russian army. Most likely, the number of these weapons is small, given that the Military Balance reports 55 TOS-1A Solntsepyok systems in service with the russian army as of 2024.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukrainian artillery had destroyed enemy position with M712 copperhead precision strike.
