The russian TOS-2 Tosochka multiple launch thermobaric rocket system can hit a target at a range of over 10 km, making it a particularly dangerous threat

An image has been publicly released, indicating that a Ukrainian UAV captured footage of the russian TOS-2 Tosochka multiple launch thermobaric rocket system in the combat zone in the Luhansk region. This marks the first instance during the entire full-scale invasion when the russian TOS-2 Tosochka was indeed recorded near the front line.

This image does not provide a clear understanding of what happened with the TOS-2 Tosochka after being recorded on the drone camera. It is likely that the russians on the TOS-2 managed to escape the strike. However, this is a highly dangerous system, so it is possible that a real hunt may begin for the Tosochka thereafter.

Until this moment, russian propagandists claimed the alleged use of the TOS-2 Tosochka on the battlefield in May 2022 and in November 2023.

This flamethrower system belongs to the latest models of the russian Armed Forces' weaponry. The first demonstration of the TOS-2 Tosochka took place only in 2020, during the "Caucasus-2020" exercises.

The main feature of this flamethrower system lies in its capability to strike at a distance of over 10 kilometers: according to some sources, the maximum firing range of the TOS-2 Tosochka is 15 kilometers, while other sources claim it reaches up to 24 kilometers. The TOS-2 is based on an Ural-63704-0010 military truck chassis.

The russian reported says the TOS-2 has an EW system to protect itself against "enemy weapons." The detailed specifications are not disclosed, and internal displays are not shown to the viewer.
