This statement is quite revealing given that the Kremlin wants to restore its position in the global arms market

russian propaganda media spread a statement by war criminal Sergei Shoigu that the Kremlin allegedly expects that after a full-scale war, russian-made weapons will be in "wide demand" in the world.

At the same time, russians believe that their S-400 and even S-500 air defense systems, attack drones, and "modernized" armored vehicles will be in demand.

From Defense Express, we would like to note that, although such a statement may seem highly paradoxical, it reflects how the Kremlin might view the trajectory of restoring its position in the global arms market.

First of all, there are questions of how much of the above-mentioned weaponry they will be able to produce for export, which countries and regions will be interested in such systems, and, most importantly, how russians will position these systems.

For instance, regarding the S-500 system, there were reports that russians deployed these systems in the temporarily occupied Crimea to counter ATACMS, as the S-300 and S-400 could not handle the task. In February 2024, the russian federation tested the S-500 system, which can allegedly shoot down hypersonic missiles, although the delivery of these systems to the troops was announced in 2022.

As for armored vehicles, it’s worth noting that at the end of 2024, russia aimed to sell BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles to Vietnam, which still uses PT-76 tanks, but ultimately it did not work.

There was also a report that in September 2024, the Chinese VT-4 tanks outperformed the T-90S ones in tests in Algeria, marking a significant loss for russia.

However, it should be noted that russia has been active in selling aircraft, something that Shoigu did not mention.
