Ukrainian volunteer Yuriy Tanasiychuk discussed this in an interview on Espreso TV.
“No matter what technologies are integrated into modern warfare, nothing can substitute for the human element,” he said. “Ukrainian infantry, including drone operators and all effective frontline units, are among the best in the world. People are the decisive factor in any war, and this one is no exception.”

Tanasiychuk highlighted the strategic value of Ukrainian drones, noting that entire operational zones now rely almost entirely on UAVs for logistics and precision strikes.
“Drones are having a massive effect on the battlefield,” he explained. “In some sectors, both ground-based and aerial drones are used exclusively to carry out missions. They not only enhance operational efficiency but also save the lives of our troops.”
As a result, he noted, russian forces have sharply increased their targeting of drone crews.
In April, the Achilles 429th Regiment of the Ukrainian Land Forces destroyed or damaged 1,967 enemy targets. These included reconnaissance UAVs, armored vehicles, electronic warfare systems, logistics assets, enemy positions, and personnel
“Based on the information we receive, the number of areas where UAVs are used to deliver munitions, food, and water has grown significantly. This evolution in drone usage has made our operators high-value targets for the enemy,” Tanasiychuk added.
