The media reports that the United Kingdom no longer has AS90 self-propelled artillery mounts in its arsenal, all of which were probably transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, both for direct use as well as "spare parts donors".
According to the French portal Opex360, the British armed forces currently have only 14 self-propelled 155-mm artillery mounts at their disposal, which is an extremely low figure.

As the French publication specifies, based on the publication of the British website Army Technology, which is the source of this information, London has not yet announced a new transfer of AS-90s to the Ukrainian army - so, since "the British military no longer has working AS90s, it is possible that the entire fleet has been transferred to Ukraine."
In any case, it turns out that the British Army currently has at its disposal only 14 Swedish Archer self-propelled systems, received in 2024.
The Archer wheeled self-propelled howitzers are considered by the Royal Armed Forces as a "temporary measure". The basis of the British self-propelled artillery fleet should be the German wheeled RCH 155 (Remote Controlled Howitzer 155 mm) self-propelled howitzers. But the problem is that the delivery of these self-propelled guns to the British customer will start only in 2029 – it will be four years before the gap is filled.
Until this period passes, the British army will have a critically small artillery fleet of only 14 wheeled 155-mm self-propelled guns, as well as approximately 126 towed 105-mm howitzers as well as 61 M270 MLRS rocket systems.
It is also worth noting that the UK wants to order additional 15 M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) launchers and an extra Repair and Recovery Vehicle (RRV). If this plan is implemented, then the British army will have 76 M270 MLRS and nine RRVs. But here the question also arises about the timing of the delivery.
