The threat of another attack by Ukrainian long-range weapons forces russia to make "unpopular" decisions

On November 6, drones of the Defense Intelligence of Ukrainestruck the main base of the Caspian Flotilla of the russian Navy. According to the video available in open sources, the strike was recorded near one of the russian ships.

Despite the fact that the attack did not result in any critical damage to russian ships, it is still an important event, considering that it was the first strike on the Caspian Sea at a distance of more than 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine's border.

It is known that before the attack, the Caspian Flotilla was actually in full strength in port, including Kalibr cruise missile carriers with a total missile launch capacity of 32 missiles (the flotilla includes ships with a missile launch capacity of up to 40 missiles).

After the attack, not counting smaller vessels, only Stupinets large missile boat (aka corvette) from Project 12418 Molniya remained in the port. It is important to note that it was decommissioned in 2023, and a new boat was built to replace it.

Earlier Defense Express reported that russia had launched not only Kh-101 cruise missiles from the Caspian sea on Ukraine, but also Kalibr missiles.
