russian media is dreaming of tanks that already have found their end in Ukraine

russian propaganda media cared as much as to post a 9-month-old video of a tank column of T-80U heading to Ukraine allegedly for participation in the military operations this winter; the footage was published on a number of Telegram channels.

However, the video is dated February 2022, the very beginning of the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. As the russian propagandists admitted themselves, these tanks "are very likely already rotting in the Ukrainian forests". So far, according to the estimates by Oryx, russian army has lost at least 89 tanks of the T-80U type only since February 24.

This is just one of those examples when russian media received a task to create a picture of the russian army, this time with "dozens of powerful tanks up and ready to fight in Ukraine" but mistook a video for that purpose.

At the same time, the situation with russian armor park manifests in the fact that almost 3,000 tanks overall have been lost in Ukraine, according to the estimates of the Ukrainian General Staff.
